Hi! I am Kristin Silm, a digital product designer.

I like to approach challenges with curiosity and playfulness, especially when clarity and learning are involved.

Design is not just about making things work — it's about making them enjoyable to use.

(UI/UX design is my main job, but sometimes I also love to play with physical materials.)

In an everyday context, my role in the council included attending meetings of the Design and IT Council, representing the students' perspective and ensuring that their rights and needs were taken into account. Participating in meetings required active presence and the courage to share my perspective on issues affecting students.

Design workshop facilitator

I conducted workshops where we introduced high school seniors to the design process. The aim of the workshops was to talk in more detail about the different design directions and types and to encourage young people to consider a career in design through practical tasks.

Mishura Games

Internship: Level designer

My task was to create levels for Mishura Games' new game Immortal: And The Death That Follows. This meant that my job was to plan how the player would move around a level, and determine the order in which they would see and do things. When it came to the levels, I focused specifically on the possible movement methods of the playable character. Unreal Engine and Level Designer Toolkit were used to create the levels.

Transform4Europe “Green Transformer Student Challenge” hackathon mentor

Students from European universities who had little or no previous experience with design came together to create solutions to sustainability-related problems over the course of five days. As a mentor, my task was to guide them through the design process and provide direction. I also had the honor of being one of the mentors on the jury. There were six teams of four to five members in total. Their solutions ranged from digital to physical contexts.
